"Just chant and everything will be revealed."

Everything Revealed

Niscala: In case y'all wondering what goes on in these secret closed Prabhupada-disciple-only forums, someone leaked out the info to me, and so I am sharing it here, revealing about what is revealed through chanting... very interesting!

Many devotees say, "Just chant and everything will be revealed." There are some important considerations to note regarding this misunderstood 'slogan'.

First, knowledge is acquired by reading/studying and hearing from one's guru, sastra and the acaryas. Knowledge is 'not' revealed - it is 'acquired' through sadhana, ie: sravanam. What is 'revealed' are the various layers of 'realizations' or 'imports' regarding that acquired knowledge.

No one is going to have all of the knowledge given in Bhakti-rasamrita-sindhu or Ujjvala-nilamani 'revealed' to them during japa. That knowledge must be acquired by a conscious endeavor. The attendant realizations of the deeper meanings of that knowledge will be revealed in due course by further sadhana. This is an important distinction and not well understood.

Secondly, SP makes it clear that when one has developed a natural attraction to one of the four main Vraja rasas, ie: dasya, sakhya, vatsalya or madhurya, that attraction must be 'developed' or 'cultivated'. In other words, if one realizes their desired relationship, that is only the beginning - you're not finished - you're just starting. So it's not just realizing what it is - it must then be developed and cultivated, which requires further study and practice, ie: raganuga-bhakti, as explained by Rupa Gosvami in BRS.

So it's not good enough to say, "just chant and everything will be revealed." It's not only about the revelation - it's about what you do 'after' that revelation, and that means learning what the acaryas have taught regarding those processes, as SP instructed us to do repeatedly in his books.
