"Seu cinto, a pele (que serve como sua vestimenta superior), seu bastão, seu cordão sacrificial e seu pote de água, devem ser deitados (jogados) na água quando estiverem danificados, e deve-se usar outros ao recitar fórmulas sagradas."
(Manu Smriti 2.64)
Brahmanas Rigvedis, Samavedis e Yajurvedis, todos deitam (jogam) o cordão antigo num corpo de água (rio, mar) ao amarrá-lo numa pequena pedra.
Curiosities.
"Your belt, the skin (which serves as your upper garment), your staff, your sacrificial thread and your waterpot, should be thrown into the water when they are damaged, and others should be used reciting sacred formulas. "

Rigvedi, Samavedi and Yajurvedi Brahmanas, all throw the old thread in a body of water (river, sea) by tying it in a small stone.
