Em relação ao casamento gay, o Manu-smrti declara que a homossexualidade não é um "grande pecado", "maha-pataka". Não conheço nenhuma outra referência direta a homossexualidade no Bhagavatam, Gita etc.
Nosso principal interesse é expandir a consciência de Krishna. O casamento gay é simplesmente uma lei do país agora, e se lutarmos contra ela, as pessoas que estamos tentando salvar nos rejeitarão. A melhor estratégia é enfatizar que não somos o corpo, e que a sexualidade, enquanto uma necessidade humana básica, não deveria ser vulgarmente exibida em público. Os heterossexuais despudoradamente ostentam o sexo, então não adianta insultar a comunidade gay. Prabhupada enfatizava que deveríamos realçar o ponto filosófico que não somos o corpo e deveríamos focar na alma. Prabhupada pessoalmente me encorajava a não apresentar a consciência de Krishna como um conjunto de regras.
Vivemos numa era muito degradada e devemos fazer nosso melhor para levar Krishna às pessoas. Sem consciência de Krishna, não podemos ter a expectativa de uma sociedade moral.

Life is meant for self realization. I don't recall Srila Prabhupada going on a big massive charade against homosexuality or making it into a big huge issue or telling us to preach extremist homophobic propaganda. That is the issue, not what Prabhupada actually said about it. Srila Prabhupada never got in to extreme absorbtion of the issue like in that post. Praladha maharaja never challenged the demons oh you terrible demons damn you, you are going to hell... Instead he preached philosophy and that was attractive. Did he go into a big thing about the fact that they are children of demons? Instead he thought them how to dance for Krishna and like Srila Prabhupada pushed Krishna consciousness, not homophobia.
You don't need proof from sastra regarding how to preach in this day and age. Just take Srila Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupadas living example because He represents sastra perfectly. He did not tell us to go out of our way and make anti gay propaganda. He did not say so in His books or in His conversations. He made statements yes, but His love had no limits. The 4 regs are there for everyone, no matter who they are. Just show everyone how attractive Krishna is, introduce them to bhakti and chanting and the rest will follow. If you have become a fanatic homophobic preacher, you should go back to the drawing board.

I'm not intersex or homosexual, but it hurts me greatly to see how my brothers and sisters devotees and other people who are intersex and homosexuals suffer from discrimination.
People do not know about statistics. They are not doctors who have to live with the daily reality of people born intersex and also homosexuals.

I have a cousin who is homosexual and always has been ever since. Since birth. He attempted suicide because his father rejected him. Fortunately his mother always supported him. When I was a Temple President in Porto Alegre Brazil, a couple of lesbian devotees from our congregation did a lot of service in the Temple. Nobody cleaned the Temple like them.
They also had my complete support when they married. They married civilly. But as they were fully accepted by me as a Temple President was not necessary make any religious ceremony. And that is exactly what homosexual and intersex devotees ask. They do not ask a religious ceremony, because the minority does not want to impose something on majority, they only ask for respect and acceptance. I never told this lesbian couple of devotees they could not participate in the Temple and that they were demonic people. On the contrary, I even recommended their initiation.
So the advice that is given to intersex and homosexual devotees is seeking devotees leaders who are open to the theme. Hard to find.
People and devotees, on the topic of human sexuality, hardly change. They have a formed idea. Those who think that intersexuality and homosexuality is an aberration, a disease to be treated, something demonic, bla, bla, bla .... hardly change unless they are doctors who have to deal with it every day.
