Generally it is thought that a person by remembering Krsna's name, at the time to leave the body, will be transferred to Goloka.
Srila Prabhupada makes clear, however, that for this to occur the devotee must have cultivated his Siddha Rupa on stage of Saddhana and relized it in Bhava, the preliminary stage of Prema.
Such is the importance of Raganuga Sadhana Bhakti that drives the devotee to the later stages of Bhava and Prema.
We can only achieve Bhava and Prema if there is a cultivation in a specific relationship during the stage of Sadhana. If there is no specific relationship that is cultivated during the Sadhana the devotee can not develop Bhava and Prema.
How someone will develop love if there is not a relationship (Rasa) with Krsna? Can not.
"As stated in the Bhagavad-gītā, a materially contaminated person transmigrates to another material body by material consciousness. At the time of death he thinks materially and is therefore transferred to another material body. Similarly, one who at the time of death is situated in his pure spiritual identity thinks of the spiritual loving service rendered to the Supreme Lord and is transferred to the spiritual kingdom, to enter into the association of Kṛṣṇa.
In other words, the qualification for being transferred to the spiritual kingdom at the time of death is to think, in one’s spiritual identity, of Kṛṣṇa and His associates. No one can contemplate the activities of the spiritual kingdom without being situated in his pure, spiritual identity (siddha-deha).

"Harikeśa: I'm curious about the destination of a neophyte devotee. If a neophyte devotee is with determination endeavoring for purification but he were to meet with death as he is still influenced by the lower modes, although he is seriously trying, then does he take another birth or does he go to Kṛṣṇa?
Prabhupāda: No, he has to take another birth...
Harikeśa: So if a devotee dies and remembers Kṛṣṇa, although he is not perfect.
Prabhupāda: Unless he is perfect, he cannot remember Kṛṣṇa. That is not possible. That is not possible. That is theory only..."
(Srila Prabhupada - morning walk Nairobi, 02/11/75)
Of course, the devotee always awaits for Krpa Siddha even if, for one reason or another, he/she can not reach the highest stage of devotional service. And there is this possibility by the mercyful Sri Krsna.
And this only because I'm large-handed !!!
Still, should at least during the Raganuga Sadhana Bhakti stage specify his/her relationship (Rasa) with Krsna that He may reciprocate.
"If we are attached to God in general, we can attain Santa Rasa. That is what we get if we are attached to God Krsna, without being attached to His pastimes and service.
To be able to take an active part in Krsna's pastimes, we need an identity. Of course, unless we aim for a birth like a straw of grass or a tree in Krsna's pastimes.
So we need to acquire an eternal identity, somehow, to be able to enter Krsna's eternal pastimes." (Prisni Dasi)
