Lila Katha Prakrta Rasa Sata Dusini

In all missions, Gaudiya Matha, Iskcon, Orthodoxy Vaishnava, etc, etc, there are devotees who abandon the process. It is not the process that are wrong, but the devotee who for one reason or another no longer follow the process.

In Bhakti Sandarbha Srila Jiva Goswami explains that there are different degrees of intimacy in the pastimes of the Lord in Madhurya Rasa.

Bhakti Sandarbha - 338
"One should not worship or hear confidential pastimes if a devotee (man) becomes sexually excited or in the mood of father or servant. But be aware that the confidentiality of these pastimes is partial and sometimes complete."

If this change occurs, you need to know that you are not prepared.

In Priti Sandarbha Srila Jiva Goswami explains the different degrees of intimacy between a hero and a heroine:

Priti Sandarbha - 375
"The four different categories of perception are: see (Sandarsana), talk (Samjalpa), touching (Samsparsa) and sexual union with (Samprayoga)."

Therefore, some pastimes may affect some devotees. And so we must select pastimes that can be heard. With a lesser degree of intimacy. But we can not neglect to hear the Lord's pastimes in Madhurya Rasa, as this is the only way to cleanse ourselves of lust by chanting Hare Krsna and hearing the pastimes of the Lord (Srimad Bhagavatam 10:33:39)

It is similarly describedi:

BRS 3.5.2: Though this rasa has many components, it will be descrbed in summary because it is difficult to describe, because it is very confidential, and because it is unsuitable for those who do not have the taste for madhurya rasa- since it seems similar to the rasa of mundane love.
in Ujjvala Nilaman 1.2 (VCT's commentary) : This topic is unsuitable even for those who have given up the material path and who have a taste for dasya, sakhya and vatsalya rasas, but who do not have a taste for ujjvala rasa

Therefore, some will hear first Madhurya Rasa Lilas in separation (Ayukta) and others that are fittest Madhurya Rasa Lilas in union (Yukta).

After all as AC Bhaktivedanda Swami explained; we are not here to "boycott" the Gopis.
In fact, for Anarthas to disappear is essential to hear the pastimes of the Lord as His Rasa Lila.

It is a powerfull form of Sadhana. Medicine is Rasa Katha and Lila Katha heard from Guru and Sadhus.

These sweet and wonderful pastimes of the Lord (in Santa, Dasya, Vatsalya, Sakhya and Madhurya) will end up with the dryness of our hearts.
If even after doing the first 9 cantos of the Bhagavatam and deeply study all the Tattvas: Srsti Tattva,

Bhagavan Tattva, Jiva Tattva, etc., someone still does not understand that Krsna's pastimes with His devotees are COMPLETELY spiritual, someone really degraded, with very animalistic tendencies, then read the pastimes of killing various demons that represent different anarthas in the heart. No need to go back to the 1st canto. Continues in Vraja Lila, but with the pastimes of killing demons.

Sankacuda wanted to enjoy the Gopis of Krsna. It is the demon that represent lust. Pralambasura is false ego.

And so different demons that represent different anarthas (17). Still remais in Vraja Lila, but is absorbed in the pastimes of killing demons that represent different anarthas in the heart. THIS, for people really degraded.
But how is it possible that after studying and going through nine cantos of the Bhagavatam not purify? How can you read the description of the Rasa Lila as an ordinary novel? In fact we study the different Tattvas exactly to enter Lila. How is it possible that after reading the Bhagavad Gita and all 9 cantos from Bhagavatam still do this?
It's because they were sleeping in Srimad Bhagavatam and Bhagavad Gita classes Sorriso rasgado

Devotee: When you become a good receiver, or when you are qualified to hear those Pastimes, that authority will explain the Pastimes of Krishna with the gopis. Otherwise you will not be able to understand that supramental theory. It will not come to you in a proper way.
Therefore, Srila Prabhupada gave Krsna book with a commentary which allows us to understand the pastimes in the right way, not allowing us to confuse them with mundane love stories by inculcating the Vedic truths regarding Bhagavan tattva. The fact that he allowed, indeed encouraged, this book to go out on a mass scale, means that "the proper way" can be facilitated by even past acaryas, and the effect has been wonderful, so many people attracted to Krsna through His pastimes, even the ones with the gopis.

Krsna book was my first book on KC and I remember being shocked at a devotee asking me whether I considered them just fairy tales. For me, they had become my new focus for meditation. The commentary precludes any possibility of mistaking them for anything mundane. And this is the effect in completely unqualified readers- raw recruits.

Admittedly, that book has less intimate affair detail in it, than Ujjvala Nilamani, which has less than Govinda Lilamrita, which require some qualification. But we are told, all rules- all of them- even those set by SBSST should serve the one rule- always remember Krsna and never forget Him. So if one is becoming KC through reading lila, no one can say you are not, as it is described as being like a man eating. He does not need a second party to tell him he is getting satisfied.

We are always advised to judge a thing by its results. If we are not qualified, then the lust in our hearts will not be destroyed. If we are, it will. It's very simple- and self evident as well.

Devotee: SBSST: So why is it that when we contemplate that Lila we are getting difficulty and we are going to a hellish position?
There you go- if reading lila is putting you into difficulty, this applies. If not, then it doesn't apply, logically.

Its like a medicine. If you take the medicine for malaria and you haven't go it, but have another disease with similar symptoms, it won't work. So, judge for yourself- don't judge for others. Obviosuly there is a huge variety in adhikara, mercy, avoidance of aparadha and other considerations that may determine if a person is ready or not- especially MERCY takes unpredictable roads, being as it is, causeless in nature, and even sadhana depends completely upon it, without which, all our efforts are fruitless.

The mercy is of course primarily through the holy name- but to gain the effect described, we must avoid aparadha. When we do that, it is very powerful. For this reason, we can't assume anything about anybody. Someone may have just joined up and be ready for lila katha, and some other person may not be ready after a lifteime, due to aparadha from this or past lives.

Prakrta Rasa Sata Dusini is a very important book and always will be to prevent new devotees and expose Sahajiyas.
But it is not a book for devotees who seriously practice Sadhana for over 40 years. (Srila
Bhaktsisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakur explain that after 20 years or so of chanting a devotee can and must hear more deeply Lila Katha)

This is only what I'm saying.
And of course, we are slaves of the footdust of Nitya Lila Pravista Om Visnupada Paramahamsa Parivrajakacarya Astottara Sata Sri Srimad Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura Prabhupada Gosvami Maharaja.
