Bhakta: I have a question about the grantha-samadhi in the courtyard of Vrindavan’s Madana Mohan Temple. What kind of literature is there and why the Gosvamis put them there?
Advaita das: “It is a mere monument. All Goswamis books are known. It is a shrine in honor of the Goswamis granthas; to my knowledge, there are no secret books there. All books of the Goswamis are listed in Caitanya Caritamrita and Bhakti Ratnakara. It is not that books are buried there because they would be too intimate for us to read. Nothing is more intimate than Stavavali, Ujjvala Nilamani etc. Anything more explicit than these books would be vulgar or offensive.”

"Many give logic that those books were given grantha samadhi because those books are not for this age. But I object because I enquired and got to know that those were dilapidated books that were written in barks and leaves. Those books were copied and are preserved and interested devotees can still serve those books. Grantha samadhi is samadhi of dilapidated books. That's all. This I heard. I don't know why devotees link it with that higher books."
